More Inspiration from Kansas. This is the foundation of an old 1 room school house near the farm where my dad grew up in western kansas - where it is flat and dry.

This photo was taken my grandparent's farm in Kansas, not too long before it was sold. We don't make a living growing wheat anymore and Kansas is a seriously flat place, but it also has it's moments that inspire.

Another photo taken October 2002 during a week long backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. I became obsessed with the rock cairns. The proportions and balance and colors were stunning.

When I bought my house 2 years ago, I told my real estate agent I wanted a house with a pink tree as my neighborhood was full of them (must have been a sale on crab apples in the mid 50s). That last few springs the weather hasn't cooperated but this year, they are going to be fabulous. The last few days the pink has been slowly emerging.

(I have no pink trees left in my yard, but my neighbors trees provide much inspiration)
